Our Story — How Web Design Kashmir Started

Web Design Kashmir did not start with a business plan or a co-working space or a pitch deck. It started because businesses in Kashmir desperately needed good websites and most of them either could not find anyone local who could build one, or they got burned by someone who promised the moon and delivered a broken WordPress template.

I am Muzamil Ahad. I have been designing and building websites since I was in college. What started as a side project — helping a family friend's hotel get a website — turned into a real thing when that hotel's bookings went up by 40% in three months. Then their neighbor wanted a website. Then their neighbor's friend. Word spread the way it does in Kashmir — through chai conversations and phone calls.

By 2022, I had stopped counting favors and started taking it seriously. I registered the business, built a proper portfolio, and began offering complete web design packages that included everything a Kashmir business actually needs: a fast website, proper SEO, Google Business Profile setup, and ongoing support from someone they could actually reach on WhatsApp when something broke.
